How much does a wedding band cost? The only published average anyone can name is from 2019, when National Jeweler, reporting The Knot 2019 Jewelry & Engagement Study, put the average men’s band at $510 and said $1,100 is being spent on average for women. Everything newer is a seller quoting its own stock. So this page prints what nine named sellers list, metal by metal, each range read from the seller’s own product page and checked in September 2026. Roughly half the results for this search are about hiring a live band, and this page is about the ring.

Key Takeaways
- The only published average we hold is from 2019, National Jeweler reporting The Knot 2019 Jewelry & Engagement Study. Nothing newer measures bands.
- Sellers’ own listed ranges run from under $10 for a ThunderFit silicone ring to $1,000 to $3,400 for a Larson Jewelers palladium flat band, checked September 2026.
- Metal is not a price ladder: at Brilliant Earth the platinum version of one comfort fit band lists above the 18K yellow gold version, and Angara’s white gold band above both.
- The band price is not the whole cost: Larson Jewelers, on its 2026 engraving page, publishes standard text engraving at $30 for up to 30 characters, and Brilliant Earth prices resizing and soldering separately.
How Much Does a Wedding Band Cost?
One dated average exists for wedding bands, and everything else written on this question is a seller describing its own shelves. Here is that figure, its date, and the gap behind it.
The One Published Average, and Its Date
National Jeweler published that pair of figures in 2019, reporting The Knot 2019 Jewelry & Engagement Study. The same study recorded the top materials for men’s bands as tungsten, at 23 percent, and white gold, at 21 percent. Treat the money as what it is: a 2019 measurement, which we have not adjusted, indexed or called current.
Why No Current National Figure Exists
The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study drew on more than 10,000 US couples married in 2025, and it measures engagement rings rather than wedding bands, which is why no newer national band average exists to quote. For that side of the spend, see what US couples spend on the engagement ring. The pages ranking here fill the gap with their own inventory.
What Sellers Actually List, by Metal

Every figure in the table below is one named seller’s listed range for one named product, read from that seller’s own page and checked in September 2026. Nothing is averaged, and no row says what a metal costs in general.
| Metal | Seller and product | Listed range | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silicone | ThunderFit Classic Men’s Silicone Ring, one to seven pack | Under $10 for one to $30 for seven | September 2026 |
| Silicone | Groove Life Groove Ring, solid color | Under $30 | September 2026 |
| Titanium | Titanium Style Flat Titanium Ring, commercially pure | Under $150 | September 2026 |
| Titanium | Element Ring Co The Spacewalker | Around $340 | September 2026 |
| Tungsten carbide | Thorsten DOMINUS Domed Tungsten Carbide Ring, at Larson Jewelers | Under $200 | September 2026 |
| Tungsten carbide | Manly Bands Tungsten Build Your Own Band | $250 to $400 | September 2026 |
| Ceramic | Manly Bands Black Ceramic Build Your Own Band | $250 to $400 | September 2026 |
| 18K yellow gold | Brilliant Earth Comfort Fit Wedding Ring | $590 to $1,200 | September 2026 |
| 14K white gold | Angara Classic Comfort Fit Plain Wedding Band, 5mm | About $1,100 to $1,200 | September 2026 |
| 950 platinum | Brilliant Earth Comfort Fit Wedding Ring | $690 and up | September 2026 |
| 950 palladium | Larson Jewelers Flat Band | $1,000 to $3,400 | September 2026 |
Silicone, Titanium and Tungsten
Groove Life lists its Groove Ring under $30 and ThunderFit a classic silicone ring from under $10 for one up to $30 for a seven pack, both September 2026; more on silicone bands and what they cost to replace. Titanium Style lists a commercially pure flat band under $150 and Element Ring Co The Spacewalker at around $340, September 2026; see titanium bands compared. Larson Jewelers lists the Thorsten DOMINUS tungsten carbide ring under $200, against Manly Bands at $250 to $400; see tungsten bands compared.
Ceramic, Gold, Platinum and Palladium
Manly Bands lists its black ceramic build-your-own band at $250 to $400. Brilliant Earth lists its comfort fit wedding ring at $590 to $1,200 in 18K yellow gold and from $690 in 950 platinum, Angara a 5mm 14K white gold classic comfort fit band at about $1,100 to $1,200, and Larson Jewelers a 950 palladium flat band at $1,000 to $3,400, all September 2026. GIA notes that white gold’s cost rises with the amount of gold in the alloy, and that alloying and plating add to it: background to 10k against 14k gold and platinum against white gold.
Metal Is Not a Price Ladder
At Brilliant Earth the platinum comfort fit band starts at $690 while the 18K yellow gold version of the same ring starts at $590, both checked September 2026, and Angara’s 14K white gold band lists above both. So the metal name does not rank the price: width, finish, inlays, stones and the seller do. For the properties, a different question from the money, see every band metal side by side.
What a Band Price Does Not Include
The price on a product page buys the ring. Sizing it, joining it to an engagement ring and engraving it are priced separately, and each figure below is a named seller’s published price for its own service.
Resizing, and the Bands That Cannot Be Resized
Brilliant Earth states that resizing a ring costs on average $50 to $200 and will generally take up to two weeks, and that rings like tungsten, ceramic or titanium may not be able to be fully resized because of their hardness or strength. Eternity bands, with stones all around, can be difficult or impossible to resize without compromising the design. On the cheapest metals here, the exchange policy matters more than the price.
Soldering and Engraving
Brilliant Earth states that soldering an engagement ring and a wedding band together can range from $185 to $200, depending on factors like ring material, design complexity and the jeweler’s expertise, and that soldered rings cannot be worn individually. Larson Jewelers, on its 2026 engraving page, publishes standard text engraving at $30 for up to 30 characters, counting inside and outside separately.
Which Band Fits Which Situation

The table below is a reading aid, not advice. Every price in it already appears above with the seller who listed it and the month we checked it, and the last column is what to confirm before paying. Nothing in it is a figure of ours.
| If this is your situation | What the listed prices point to | What to check before you pay |
|---|---|---|
| You need a band you can replace without regret | Silicone listings run from under $10 for one ThunderFit ring to under $30 for a Groove Life ring | The maker’s replacement terms, since a silicone band is a consumable |
| You want metal at the lowest listed price | Titanium Style lists a commercially pure titanium band under $150 and Larson Jewelers lists a Thorsten tungsten ring under $200 | Brilliant Earth’s point that tungsten, ceramic and titanium may not be fully resizable |
| Your finger size is likely to change | Nothing in the price column helps here | Whether the seller will exchange the ring for another size, and for how long |
| You want a precious metal band | Brilliant Earth lists 18K yellow gold from $590 and 950 platinum from $690; Angara lists 14K white gold at about $1,100 to $1,200 | GIA’s point that white gold’s cost rises with its gold content and that plating adds to it |
| You are pairing it with the engagement ring | Brilliant Earth puts soldering the two rings together at $185 to $200 | That a soldered pair cannot be worn individually afterwards |
Each belongs to the seller named beside it, on the date in the table above, and the middle column is deliberately empty of advice about what anyone should spend.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the average cost of a wedding band?
The only published average we can name is from 2019: National Jeweler, reporting The Knot 2019 Jewelry & Engagement Study, gave $510 for the average men’s band and said $1,100 is being spent on average for women. No newer study we hold measures bands, so read both as 2019 numbers.
Is $1000 for a wedding ring good?
We do not rate anyone’s budget. Set against the figures here, $1,000 is roughly double the 2019 men’s band average National Jeweler reported, falls inside Brilliant Earth’s listed 18K yellow gold range, and sits below Angara’s 14K white gold listing, checked September 2026.
Is $5000 a lot for a wedding ring?
That judgment is yours, not ours. What the listings support is narrower: $5,000 is above the upper end of every range on this page, the highest of which is Larson Jewelers’ 950 palladium flat band, at $3,400 when we checked it in September 2026.
Are diamonds in old rings worth anything?
No named source we hold publishes a resale or scrap value, so we will not put a number on one. Every figure on this page is what a named seller lists for a new band, checked in September 2026, and that is not what a used ring would fetch. Ask an appraiser who inspects the ring.
What ring goes first, engagement or marriage?
That question belongs to a different guide, so we answer it there rather than on a pricing page: see which hand and which order rings go on for the order the two rings are worn in. Nothing about that order changes what either ring costs.
